Introduction
The Presence Engine™ is designed as the first human-centric AI Experience (AX) — a foundational runtime that treats people like humans, not datasets. Its thesis is simple: for AI to be sustainable, it must support emotional presence, trust, and dignity as core infrastructure.
Problem
Current AI systems optimize for productivity, scale, or data extraction. They treat people as sources of information, not as subjects with emotions, context, and evolving identities. This creates churn, anxiety, and detachment.
Thesis
Human beings need emotional operating systems as much as technical ones. The Presence Engine™ creates a privacy-first, tone-mapped emotional foundation where AI adapts to human states (OCEAN personality traits, tone, context), instead of reducing them to raw data.
Goal
To build AI that feels present, trustworthy, and emotionally intelligent — so that interactions foster connection, regulation, and resilience rather than over-simulation, productivity churn, or detachment.
This is not “AI companionship as novelty.” Presence Engine™ is a framework for applied emotional intelligence in machines, drawing from:
